Frances McAulay

Director and Employment Lawyer

Frances has been an employment lawyer for 20+ years specialising in supporting and advising employers from the private and third sectors. Having been a Partner for more than 10 years, Frances left private practice to join one of her most successful clients, a thriving veterinary business.

Frances is not only adept at the essentials of employment law, from contracts to disciplinary matters, but also excels in specialized areas like TUPE, redundancy, and internal investigations. With a notable track record in the Employment Tribunals of Scotland and England, her expertise is evident.

Her passion extends beyond the legal realm. Through her work with CVS Fife, she initiated key improvements in the third sector's internal processes. Frances’s leadership is highlighted by her eight-year board membership with CVS Fife and her instrumental role in transitioning the Fife Third Sector Interface to the acclaimed Fife Voluntary Action. After a brief pause, she's back as FVA's Vice-Chair.

Prior to qualifying as a solicitor Frances was an HR professional working in a variety of industries and services. After graduating from Heriot Watt University she progressed from HR Officer with a multinational electronics company to Regional HR Director with one of the UK’s largest food service companies before returning to Dundee University where she obtained her law degree.
