Susi O’Brien

Associate HR Specialist

Susi is an HR and UK employment law specialist with years of experience working at a senior level. She provides high-quality, bespoke services which connect dry legal technicalities with the living, breathing, (and often unexpected!) context of real workplaces. This supports managers to fulfil their legal duties as employers in a way that boosts engagement, motivation, and performance. Susi enjoys supporting clients with tricky problems involving conduct, performance, discrimination, data protection, TUPE, or similar. She also thrives on creating contracts, policies, and training which can help managers to avoid these problems. Not every organisation, employee, leader, role, relationship, or situation is the same and Susi believes means that good HR advice should recognise the context, resources, and personalities at hand. Susi has an MSc in HR Management and a separate LLM in Employment Law and she has lead, restructured, and developed teams throughout most of her career. Previous work achievements have included overseeing highly complex employee cases, managing various successful employee/union consultations, and supporting senior colleagues on many occasions to devise and implement programmes of change.
